At 15.00 Södermalm met up at the sponsor pub O’Learys, Liljeholmen for the AGM. One hour later the board had been re-elected and the wheels set in motion for 2013. The long discussions had given everyone a dry throat so after a few cold ones the group headed straight to Gullmarsplan for the Söder Bowling Championship. Everyone except Murf who went home to get his bowling pants.
A new format was introduced this year; speed bowling, so after a quick training round the championship begun. Favourites were falling left, right and centre. Brissles couldn’t get his mojo working and tried slow rolling it in the end but without success. “How are you supposed to roll a sweeper on such a stiff lane?” Medium Dave didn’t know whether to blame the ball or his new diet. “Man, all these balls have particle coverstock, I’m used to reactive resin!” Larry got off to a slow start but three late strikes unexpectedly put him in the lead with 152 points. The Bull however boxed cleverly, taking his time to read the lanes. As the last pins went down he jumped to first position with 154 points. Bull started celebrating his second bowling championship when there suddenly was a new contender for the title. One of the late starters Kungen came out of nowhere and with the last frame to go he could smell victory. He tried his best to bowl the socks of Bull, eagerly ‘supported’ by the rest of the team. Unfortunately hell fell short with the last couple of crankers and had to settle for 3rd spot with 149 points.
