It had been a long road for Södermalm to get to this year’s Curling Championship with the lineup constantly changing but finally last Tuesday the boys in blue hit the ice. Jordo created an upset early on by breaking up the triumphant trio from last year’s championship.That stone, reducing a 5 point loss to only 1 point. The Merrymen managed to stay in the game.

Both teams started out aggressively in the fourth round. After half a round Team Uni had a couple of stones in the house with guards in front. Team Jordo removed the guards but Petter kept putting them back. It is now that Coach Jordan pulls out his secret weapon; the Sydney Side Slide. This involves sliding out on a steep angle and then hooking the stone around the guards. A courageous attempt but unfortunately unsuccessful and the Uni boys took another 2 point score.

Team Jordan did their best to get on the score board in the last round but was forced to go home scoreless after another 1 point win to Team Uni.

Final score: Team Uni – Team Jordo and the Merrymen 7 – 0 (1-2-1-2-1)
