Söder gives Solna the Blues

On near perfect conditions for footy, the södermalm football team was playing Solna FC and was determined not to make it 3 losses on the trot for season 2009.
The game was very close up to 3 quarter time, where the scores were level 35 all. Söder were playing terrible footy and keeping solna’s final chances alive.
This was all to change as coach jordo gave the söder player his famous 3 quarter reeming telling them to pull there heads in and to get out there play play real footy!!!
True to his words, the söder boys came out in the last quarter and blew Solna off the paddock along with their 2009 finals aspirations!
Kicking 3 goals into a strong breeze and keeping Solna goal less in the last quarter the blue baggers sealed the victory, and also cemented there place in the 2009 SAFF grand final and once again are minor premiers of SAFF.

The final score was: Södermalm 8.14.52 def Solna 5.6.36

Blues storm to victory

The Blues were at it again last Friday in some of the wettest conditions that Aussie Rules has seen in Sweden - this time knocking off new-boys Årsta by a comfortable 45 points.

On a pitch that would be better described as Swan Lake rather than Årsta Fältet, the Blues mastered the conditions and took a 2-0 overall lead in the Southern Stockholm Derbies against the Årsta Swans. The win also pushes Söder clear at the top of the SAFF league ladder with a 4-0 game count in 2009.

The conditions may have been to blame for a slow starting game with only 3 goals being scored between both teams in the 1st quarter. Similar wet-weather play in the 2nd quarter saw Söder slip 'n slide to a 16 point lead at the long break.

Players' Player - Johan "The Flash"" Dahlberg - turned his already good game into a great game in the 2nd half as he flashed in and out of the center and around the ground picking the wet heavy ball up as though the conditions were perfect. 'The Flash' left the Årsta

Söder sink Swans in 1st derby

Södermalm and Årsta kicked off their rivalry last Friday 15th May with the first derby between the two southern Stockholm teams.

Coach Jordo had his Söder men primed for the Friday night blockbuster and with the wind behind them in the first term, a good start was imperitive for the Blues. A centre clearance followed by a mark and goal in the first minute saw the Blues off to a flyer. With this momentum, the Blues sliced the match open with 4 more goals in the 1st quarter to lead 5.4 vs 0.2 at quarter time.

New recruits Henrik Engervall and Michael Bourke battled admirably against SAFF veteran "Boots"" in ruck
